Context Design Group completed the design for a 270,000 SF manufacturing facility for the automotive interiors manufacturer. This facility includes process flows of both wood and aluminum product utilizing many of the same work station areas for both materials. The design team helped the client break down each aspect of their process in order to form a layout to efficiently receive & prepare material, surface material, assemble parts, and ship finished product of both types in the single facility.

The process includes injection molding which necessitated a 10-ton bridge crane to be incorporated into the facility’s design with future access to other process areas. Very specific temperature and humidity controls in different process areas necessitated an intricate HVAC design to address each critical need.

Novem’s American headquarters are also part of the facility encompassing a 16,000SF curvilinear-shaped office evoking the company’s logo and automotive specialties. The office’s focal point is centered on a board room and lobby greeting visitors to the facility with displays of the company’s history and products.

Context Design Group was responsible for all areas of design including Architectural, Civil, Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical engineering. CDG also developed preliminary budget analysis and assisted the client in discussions with the local jurisdiction on tax incentives for development.
